Do MPs deserve a pay rise and to keep their job “perks”?

MPs who sit on the House of Commons Standards Committee say politicians should get a pay rise and keep many of their perks. They say they're like police and junior doctors and should be able to claim expenses in compensation for their anti-social working hours. Sir Peter Bottomley is one of the MPs on the committee.
