Tiken Jah Fakoli on reggae and Mali

It would be hard to find anyone who loves African reggae and does not love Tiken Jah Fakoli's song Africain a Paris (An African in Paris), based on Sting's An Englishman in New York.

"It's neither hell nor heaven to be an African in Paris," he sings.

What many of his fans probably do not know is that he does not live in France or in his native Ivory Coast.

BBC Africa's Manuel Toledo met him recently at a youth cultural centre in Bamako and asked him why he prefers to live in Mali.
