Any Questions disrupted in Basingstoke - 1976

Episode 804,   Nov 09, 2013, 09:31 AM

"Sickened and disgusted" were the words of David Jacobs, when windows at the United Reformed Church in Basingstoke, were smashed by those protesting noisily against the appearance of Enoch Powell on the panel of 'Any Questions' in November 1976. Enoch, a controversial former Tory MP, was known for his views on large-scale immigration. Recordings of the Radio 4 programme were suspended for ten minutes.
