Dec 06, 2013, 01:10 PM

Over the last 9 weeks a team from Impact Arts, which includes musicians Grant Pringle ('Dawn of the Replicants' and 'The Stark Palace') and Will Thomson ('All at Sea'), have been working with some S3 pupils from Galashiels Academy on a Youth Music Initiative project. The talented young musicians have come together to create a super group, ‘The Blacklist’.

Saturday 14th December 2013 will be the launch of their exciting debut album ‘No Ties’ and ‘The Blacklist’ will be performing songs at 2pm and 4pm. Signed copies will be on sale throughout. There will also be the chance to see a documentary of the bands inception and the progress of the hard working musicians as they write and record their first album.

Make sure you catch ‘The Blacklist’ on Saturday 14th December at the old YMCA shop, 63 Channel Street, Galashiels, TD1 1BN.

The project was funded by Creative Scotland. Youth Music Initiative is part of Scottish Borders Council Arts Development. This interview was supported by the Wired Team at Radio Borders.
