Paul Martin's Business Update - December 20th

This province delivered two members of the listing of the TOP 100 female entrepreneurs in the nation. The list was compiled by Profit Magazine along with Chatelaine.

Leading the list from this province in 30th spot is Margaret Skinner of Wilkie. She is CEO of West Central Pelleting, a company that turns screenings into livestock feed that began as a local economic development project boasting more than 1,000 shareholders. She and her family have long been a high profile member of the commercial sector of the province, having started a string of enterprises and she earned further recognition as this year’s Canadian TOP 100 female entrepreneur from the smallest community.

The other on the list is Kim Weimer of Saskatoon who ranked 57th. She is a founder of Fastener Warehouse and turned the judges’ eyes for her hiring practises. The company is big on hiring family members and friends of good employees. According to the magazine, Fastener Warehouse has seven sets of siblings, cousins, in-laws and even parents.
