Newly appointed Somali Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed speaks in Maay (his native language) during a speech in front of Somali Members of Parliament seeking approval as Prime Minster.

"First and foremost I am your son, the son who hails from Arlaadi (affectionate name for the land of Maay speakers). I belong to the holy Islamic Congregation of Bardera (in South Somalia) that you all know well. From this moment you have access to me and my door is open to you and all Somalis. I salute you and you are most welcome" Prime Minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed, said in opening remarks.
