A woman left blind after her pet dog chewed part of her face has had her sight restored after around one hundred operations. 53 year old Wendy Hamriding from Preston was an alcoholic when she knocked herself unconscious two years ago by falling down the stairs after heavy drinking. She says her dog tried to rouse her by nibbling at her face. It actually chewed away some of her eye socket. The facial reconstruction left her blind, but now two years on she can see again after pioneering surgery.
