"Failure is the only thing we learn from" Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is BH Cultural Figure of the Year

The BH Cultural Figure of 2013 is awarded to a man who has contributed to a sea-change in opinions about television. Breaking Bad is the tale of a high school chemistry teacher turned gun-packing, methamphetamine-selling hustler that hooked its loyal viewers. The production company had to keep the ending secret from senior staff, and even lead actors were made to film separately to avoid giving the plot away. So the BH Cultural Figure of the Year award goes to Vince Gilligan, its creator and writer. Our reporter Becky Milligan gave the Emmy award winning star a spurtle.
