Media Talk podcast: Rajars, The Bridge, Adam Boulton and more BBC woe

Feb 06, 2014, 04:45 PM

John Plunkett is joined by the creative director of television indie Lemonade Money Faraz Osman and radio consultant James Cridland to discuss the week's media news. The Rajars for the last quarter of 2013 were released on Thursday, with the news that digital station BBC 6Music has almost the same amount of listeners as Radio 3. Radio Academy chief executive Paul Robinson explains why the figures are good for digital and for speech radio. Mark Thompson returned to face MPs again over the failed Digital Media Initiative which lost £90m of licence fee payers' money before it was scrapped; the panel discuss what we learned from his performance. Plus, John Plunkett speaks to former Sky News political editor Adam Boulton as he celebrates 25 years at the channel. Down in Rebecca Nicholson's TV lair, we discuss Channel 4's Dispatches, the ending of The Bridge (contains spoilers!) and BBC2's The Restaurant Man.
