The Bay - launch

The Bay was one of the stations created through the enthusiasm of the new Radio Authority as they sought to fill in holes on the map and add stations in notable towns on the edge of larger TSAs. It served Furness, the South Lakes, and North Lancashire - all around Morecambe Bay. Hear here the station being launched by the Captain of the Royal Navy Submarine HMS Vanguard at Barrow, Commander Jim Boyd and Otis Redding. Jim died in 2006.
