Councillors getting £4.5k hike. They're getting more powers. Should they get 50% more cash too?

Councillors are to get a pay rise of almost £4,500 in their basic allowance. That represents a rise of nearly 50% and takes their annual payment up to £14,200.

It's part of the shake-up of local government which will see the number of local councils reduced from 26 to 11.

Do you think our councillors should be getting more money to look after larger areas?

Former MLA and councillor Seamus Close and UUP Councillor Bob Stoker discuss it.
