BBC Radio 5 Closes 1994

It was opened in 1990 by Trevor and Simon and closed in 1994 by Ricky Salmon. “It” was the short-lived BBC network Radio 5, replaced on 28 March 1994 by the 24-hour news and sport station Radio 5 Live. Here’s the closing announcement from Ricky; note “this is BBC radio” as if broadcasting in some form of radio no-man’s land.
