An Aberdeen man who battled with a bank for sixteen years has won his fight at the Supreme Court.

Richard Durkin wanted to cancel a credit agrement with HFC after he returned a laptop he'd taken the contract out for.

They refused and issued him with a default notice.

But five justices have this morning ruled he was entitled to rescind the agreement and awarded him £8,000 in damages.

Mr Durkin says the problem all came to light when he was prevented from buying a house years later.
