AASR interview with SpyderSurf Fest Founder Dennis Jarvis

All Action Sports Radio talks to Spyder Surf Boards owner, the “Surf Doctor” and founder of the annual Spyder Surf Fest Dennis Jarvis. The Spydersurf fest kicks off this year on April 5 in Hermosa Beach, Ca.

New to this year will be the LA Surf Awards honoring Palos Verdes’ pro and “Standout Surfer of the Year” surfer Alex Gray, legendary surf photographer Mike Balzer, short board and longboard champion Ted Robinson who will be honored with the coveted “California ICON” award and Bob Hurley who will accept Hurley’s achievement for “Breakout Brand of the Year.” Throughout the past 30+ years Dennis has shaped for the top surfers in the world and had many world champions riding for the SPYDER team. He has been on the cover of numerous magazines including the coveted SURFER Magazine and Dennis has garnered the BEST SHAPER title eight out of 13 times. Dennis also worked with James Cameron and Kathryn Bigelow for the making of POINT BREAK starring Keanu Reeves, where he manufactured all the surfboards and taught Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze, Anthony Kiedis, James LeGros, Lori Petty and the rest of the cast how to surf.
