Bearings tell you a long time before they wear out that they are failing. They scream, first at a high frequency and them lower, as the gap increases. This neighbour's lawnmover is well on the way out... The image is of a spectrogram of the wear, around the mode-shift at 20s, the screaming is clearly visible and audible
