Andrew Gale on dropping himself from the team at Lord's in the LV= County Championship

A selfless act from captain Andrew Gale. He has dropped himself from today's team in the LV= County Championship against Middlesex at Lord's.

He is replaced by Joe Root, who returns to first team action and will skipper the side.

Gale will now travel back to Leeds later today and will feature in the Second Team game against Lancashire starting tomorrow at Headingley.

Yorkshire have lost the toss and will bat first.
