Vale Primary School Baton Bearers Confirmed

On Wednesday 15th May the Queen's Baton Relay is due to visit a number of Primary Schools here in Guernsey. Different children from each school will bear the baton and represent Guernsey in the local leg of what is a worldwide relay, which will have travelled to over 65 different countries before arriving in the Bailiwick.

In Vale Primary School Alfie Bentley & Gemma Creber, both in Year 6, will bear the baton. Allfie Bentley is a keen footballer and has captained both the Tag Rugby Team which won the Primary Schools Tournament and the school Football team which won both the Guernsey Schools and Channel Islands Championships. His school highlighted him as a great sportsman who is always keen to develop his skills and to lead by example.

Gemma Creber, also in Year 6, will join Alfie to bear the baton. She is a keen Netballer and has shown dedication, determination and great leadership within the A Netball team over the last 2 years. The School highlighted that she is a truely fantastic player that could play any position within the team. She has captained the A Team this year and led the players to a 7-schools victory and 3rd place in the Island Tournament. Gemma has represented the Island (Panthers) U11 U12 and received player of the match against Jersey.
