Red Flags at the Giro

As bad weather in the Italian Alps caused confusion and Nairo Quintana gained time over his compatriot Rigoberto Uran to take the pink jersey in the Giro d'Italia the fall-out continued with discussions over whether the race had been neutralised on the descent of the Stelvio.

Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe discuss the controversy and ask whether Quintana should have been allowed to get away and what can be done to avoid similar chaos in future.

Was the race neutralised? Can the rules cater for every possible eventuality? Should Quintana be docked time? They discuss it all.

Daniel also reports back from the Française des Jeux training camp in the Pyrenees where Thibaut Pinot is banishing his descending demons and tuning up for the Tour de France.
