Exercise – A minute of design thinking Next we want you to think about how you would change society for the better.

Explore a few 60-second ideas from the forum archive at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/ worldservice/ specials/ 143560second_ideas/ page2.shtml

(Note: You might need to install an additional browser plugin if you are using a Mac to access these legacy audio files. If you do not wish to do this then you can listen to some recent recordings using iPlayer at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/ podcasts/ series/ forum60sec)

Next, write a script for your own audio file. This should contain enough material for 60 seconds (about 180 words) and outline your idea to make the world a better place by employing design thinking.

Create an image or sketch with the words ’60 second idea’ on and upload it to your ODS Pinboard. When you have done this use the sound comment function on your image to read out your script and create an audio file.

Where: My Pinboard Title: 60 Second Idea Notes: Record your audio file by using the ‘sound comment’ function on the image you have uploaded. Finally, listen to at least three other students’ 60-second ideas and provide them with some constructive feedback.
