New South Wales – A tent embassy at North Lismore has gathered to protect a sacred plateau from a property development of over fifteen hundred houses.

Bundjalung Wyia-bal elder Mickey Ryan says the Department of Planning hasn't consulted on sacred sites and cultural heritage and he's lodged a writ in Court to prevent the development.

Mr Ryan says two sacred fires have been lit, one at the Embassy and another on the plateau.

He says traditional owners are happy to escort any Embassy visitors to the plateau.
