Week 4 Boo: The Black Arts Movement
Share
For this boo, I’d like you to do something different. Together, I’d like us to learn about the Black Arts Movement. Go to any reliable source---your textbook, a website, etc.---anything but that wicked source. Search for the Black Arts Movement. Then, choose one piece of information about the Black Arts Movement and TYPE IT in the comments box below. It could be a list of some of the major writers. It might be the dates the movement began. It might be a definition of the movement. You decide. The only caveat is that it has to be new information, something that no other student has posted. So, make sure you read what your classmates have typed before you type yours.
In addition, remember to use quotation marks for direct quotations. Lastly, please identify the source of the information. So, your comment will look like this one:
“Although often criticized as sexist, homophobic, and racially exclusive (i.e., reverse racist), Black Arts was much broader than any of its limitations.“ Source: Modern American Poetry website, http://www.english.illinois.edu/maps/blackarts/historical.htm
There is no voice recording for this boo, and there is no need to comment on what your classmates have written.
