Bicker Plane Memorial

A recording taken at the site of the memorial for the Lancaster which came down in Bicker Fen in 1944. The memorial reads:

To the glory of God and in honoured memory of Sgt. R.H.F. Malthouse Sgt. J.W. Nixon F/Sgt. D.J. Farrant F/Sgt. J.B. Bannan W/O R.T Lord F/Sgt. A.I.G. Hunter

Who lost their lives when Arvo Lancaster (ND820) 635 Squadron crashed here while on a flight from RAF Downham Marke. Monday 10th 1944.

Who now lie at rest in the surrounding fields. Their names are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial to the Missing.

Also in memory of crew member F/O F.T. Wilson. Buried in Stonefall Cemetery, Harrogate.
