Five African authors battle for $17,000 prize

Tonight at a special ceremony in Oxford, the winner of the prestigious #Caine Prize for #African Writing will be announced. The winner takes home a prize of over 17,000 (seventeen thousand US dollars). The shortlisted authors are Diane Awerbak from South Africa, Efemia Chela, who's half Ghanaian half Zambian,Tendai Huchu from Zimbabwe, and Kenyans Billy Kahora and Okwiri Oduor. They've been talking to BBC Africa's Alice Muthengi about their inspiration.
