Kenya's anti-terror unit accused of mistreatment

Kenya's security forces have come under fire for their treatment of people suspected of involvement in terror activities. The allegations are contained in a report by Human Rights Watch. The campaign group has singled out the Kenya Anti-terrorism Police Unit as being responsible for forced disappearances, arbitrary arrests and and the mistreatment of terror suspects. And now Human Rights Watch is pressurising donors, such as the US and UK, to suspend their support for Kenya's anti-terror measures until the authorities have rectified the alleged problem.
