Monthly black bin collections? Is that the future in NI? #BBCNolan

Once a month bin collections. There was a massive reaction when we brought you that story last Friday. Banbridge Council are starting a once every four week collection to encourage rate payers to recycle more.

And other councils are considering a move to monthly bin collections.

Now the Environment Minister, Mark Durkan, has given the idea his blessing. In a statment to the Nolan show he said "The Department welcomes any initiative aimed at reducing the amount of waste we send to landfill and at increasing the proportion we recycle."
