Should older drivers be forced to take driving test again?

Should elderly drivers be retested once they get to 70. Over 4m people 70-plus hold a licence and all they have to do at to keep it is assess their own fitness to drive every three years.

But should older people be forced to retake their test or does this smack of ageism?
