The Chief Constable warned the public yesterday that lives could be at risk because of cuts to his police budget. George Hamilton told the Policing Board that reduced resources means the PSNI will have a "reduced ability to keep people safe, prevent and detect crime, leading to Article 2 (the right to life) risks". He also said publicly yesterday that the PSNI would be "unrecognisable" because of cuts of more than £50million.
