Cultural and sporting events under threat after tourism funding slashed

Some of our most high profile culture and sporting events could be facing the axe. Thousands of pounds in government funding have been cut.

In a statement, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) said it was scrapping the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) events fund.

This will impact the likes of Culture Night, The Foyle Cup, Festival of Fools and the Belfast Mela.
