Death threat author says he hopes would be assassin goes to paradise.

The Danish author who survived an attempt to murder him says he hopes his attacker is killed in Syria, or Iraq where he’s believed to be living. The alleged gunman was expected to be extradited from Turkey to Denmark but was released from prison in Istanbul, creating a diplomatic dispute between Ankara and Copenhagen. The Danish Prime Minister has described as “unacceptable”, Turkey’s decision to release the man. Helle Thorning Schmidt added that the Turks’ actions were incomprehensible. Denmark had expected Turkey to extradite the 27 year old to Copenhagen to face trial. The man, a Danish citizen fled to Istanbul after allegedly attempting to shoot 71 year old anti Islamist author Lars Hedegaard at home 20 months ago.
Hedegaard fought back and dodged a bullet. Experts believe the gunman was one of a number of prisoners involved in an exchange deal to secure the release of more than 45 Turkish diplomats taken hostage in the summer by Islamic State in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
