The plight of Ebola survivors

Awareness raising is vital. Providing clear and accurate messaging helps stop the spread of #Ebola and tackles widespread discrimination toward those infected. Steven Kaindaneh, Policy and Programme Manager for Christian Aid Sierra Leone, speaks about the challenges faced by Ebola survivors once cleared of infection. Survivors often return home to the destruction of their belongings. They are stigmatised by friends and family, often roaming the streets, unable to get a job. Our partners are working to spread life-saving messages to people in Sierra Leone, so far reaching 1.2 million through radio messages.
