Buain na Rainaich

This song is about cutting bracken and is said to have been sung by a fairy who fell in love with a human. The origins of the song are unknown, however the word ‘ Rainaich’ meaning ‘Bracken’ is where the word ' Rannoch' comes from. A version of this song was found within the Atholl Collection at A.K. Bell Library in Perth.
