The Flower of Strathearn (Lady Nairne) was a songwriter and collector born in Gask, Perthshire. She was a descendant of the Clan Oliphant and her father and brother were involved in the Jacobite Uprising of 1745. Many of her songs feature references to the Jacobites and Bonnie Prince Charlie. She is known for songs such as The Auld Hoose, Caller Herrin', Will ye Know Come Back Again, The Land of the Leal', Wi A Hundred Pipers, Charlie is my Darling and many more songs. Rowan Tree is a very popular pipe tune heard played by many pipe bands across the country.
