There’s no shortage of features on programmes about radio jingles. From the lengthy discussion on Radio 4’s Midweek featuring Jon from JAM to Tony Blackburn on Radio 4 explaining why Radio 1 really should not give up sung jingles. And what of the many stations which chose to air the famous JAM jingle song in full. I’m no stranger to this jingle crime, having featured in several late night lengthy incestuous asides on-air with the presenter as I descended to the studio to load a fresh new package ready for its first airing the following day.

Enjoy here a lengthy 1983 feature on jingles, culled from a Radio London show called ‘Sounds Good’. And it did.
