NJ is a charity very close to my heart. A few years ago, one of my best friends had to sit out of his kid's birthday party with what he thought was food poisoning.
It wasn't. It was a nasty,aggressive cancer. One that felled the physically and mentally strongest man I've ever known in six weeks.
And in the middle of all the medical rush and hasty arrangements was a 5-year old boy who didn't understand what was happening. Or why.
Nothing can ever make up for the loss of a parent. But Nelson's Journey support both bereaved kids and parents with counselling, clubs, one to one therapy, respite weekends and bringing together families. They're good people.
