Wake Up to Wogan

After eight years away Wogan was back! 4th January 1993 and out Tel returned to his rightful place on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show, now titled Wake Up to Wogan. Listening back to the tape he’s a rusty with the studio technology and there’s no banter with newsreader John ‘Boggy’ Marsh. Tales of Janet and John and the TOGS were on the horizon. Note too a playlist that encompasses Bing Crosby and Pavarotti and a trailer for Brian Hayes’s new weekend shows. Throughout 1992 Hayes had hosted what was an ill-advised hard-nosed news agenda driven breakfast show. Wake Up to Wogan ran for an incredible 16 years.
