From the archives: Three years after Burns Lake mill explosion killed two people

It's been three years since the explosion at the Babine Forest Products sawmill in Burns Lake that killed two workers and left 19 people injured.

We dug up a clip from our newscast following the explosion.

The explosion was later blamed on dangerous levels of wood dust from milling trees that had been killed by mountain pine beetles and Babine Forest Products was later fined nearly $1 million.

Jobs Minister Shirley Bond said at the time, the fine was likely the largest ever handed out in B.C. and the maximum amount allowed under 2014 WorkSafeBC rules.
