Aberdeen MSP Calls For Investigation Over "Misleading" Marischal Square Comments

Aberdeen City Council's finance convenor is facing calls to resign after claims he misled the public over a controversial city scheme.

Responding to a petition calling for the Marischal Square project to be scrapped, Councillor Willie Young said the city would face a £100 million cancellation fee to back out.

After this was denied by both the developer and the local authority, the Labour member said he had not been in full possession of the facts.

Aberdeen Central MSP Kevin Stewart has written to Council Chief Executive Angela Scott, calling for an investigation over the comments.
