Today is World Cancer Day and with new research suggesting an estimated one in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives - Stephen has been looking at the emotional, physical and psychological impact that the illness has upon its sufferers and their families. In a BBC documentary The Truth About Cancer, to be screened tonight, Stephen spent time with individuals and their loved ones at different stages of their illness and recovery and seeks to understand the effect that cancer is having upon their lives. Tracey Martin's father Brian features in the program and sadly passed away late last year, Tracey herself has also be battling cancer. We also hear from Lisa McGarry, the daughter of Una Crudden, David Colquhoun is a Professor in Pharmacology and Rosin Foster, Chief Executive of Cancer Focus NI
