The founder and owner of the Silk Road website, Ross Ulbricht, has been found guilty by a court in New York of orchestrating a scheme allowing $200m of anonymous drug sales. Ulbricht operated the site under the moniker 'Dread Pirate Roberts' and used the digital form of money Bitcoin, as the payment system. The trial has been a landmark for the US Justice Department showing it can dig into the dark-net. Russell Brandom of the Verge magazine told the BBC's Roger Hearing that the authorities claimed to have found a kind of backdoor into the servers.
