I was out having fun in pubs and clubs when I was 19, not being shoved into jungles and shot at." I should have said more about the content of the song. I need you guys. Far short of my goal and last week coming up. THANKS to those who've pledged. Janet Jackson - "Control" General Kane - "Crack Killed Applejack" [A coincidence that this song seems to sample "Control." Or was it the other way around? Or neither.] Dick Hyman - "Topless Dancers of Corfu" Thanks for listening to this episode of The Dusty Show. I wasn't very prepared for it. It was one of those weeks where I went out to do interviews and I just couldn't find the will. Then I began another show which was to be 60 singles in 60 minutes, but I only got up to 28 minutes and ran out of time. So ... I grabbed some records and headed to the station. I guess that was the idea for SIngles Going Steady anyway, so ... I do feel like I've been flagging a bit during this Silent Fundraiser, and frankly lots has been goin' on. How about you? I hope to get some good shows in ahead, but I'm worried about how I'm going to pull anything worthwhile together for Halloween. We'll see. I do hope that if you listen regularly and you generally like the program that you'll make a pledge right here and now for The Dusty Show and WFMU. I'd sure like to get closer to that goal and save face. I bet you will come through. If you can't, don't worry. Keep listening and ... always remember.
