Swedes drown out PEGIDA supporters in Malmo in bear pit atmosphere

Swedish police say about four thousand anti racism protestors turned up in Malmo’s main square tonight to drown out the country’s first demonstration by the anti Muslim group PEGIDA. A substantial police force ringed a small section of the square where about two dozen PEGIDA supporters gathered. PEGIDA’s Swedish leader claimed thousands of people support their stance but were too scared to attend the rally. From Malmo Malcolm Brabant reports.
