Mercury levels in Hawaiian yellowfin tuna are increasing 3.8% or more per year. If a person takes in too much mercury, they can suffer from brain damage, paralysis, incoherent speech and delirium. Scientists predict that by 2050 the Pacific Ocean will double in mercury levels.
