MBE MISSING, SUSPECTED STOLEN IN DEWSBURY

There's an appeal from a family to have their dead grandfather's MBE medal returned by thieves. Captain Richard Hawkins was made a Member of the British Empire for his services to the police and army in 1978. He passed away 20 years ago, leaving his prize possession with his wife Ivy, but it's now disappeared following her death 2 weeks ago in Chickenley, Dewsbury. The family believe someone's stolen it. Kevin Hughes is their grandson and says for his grandma the MBE was a prize possession. He's spoke to the BBC Radio Leeds Breakfast Show today, Liz Green Live. #Dewsbury #MBE
