Geoff Edwards creates a meditative piece from the sounds of Hawaiian waves: "My randomly selected Oblique Strategies were: 1. What is the simplest solution? 2. Emphasize repetitions - Years ago I learned Transcendental Meditation. When I lay near the Ocean I find wave action meditative like a mantra (which is a sound repeated to aid concentration while meditating). With the above strategies drawn for me I set about creating an audio meditation by selecting some pleasing wave actions recorded on both the island of Maui and Molokai in Hawaii. Which is the world's most remote island chain located in the middle of the Pacific. I have been a sound designer for years and could have got in the way of the oblique strategies by adding some synthesizer pads or dreaming up some sounds to add. Instead I kept it simple and relied upon the repetitive nature of the wave action. I have rearranged the sounds so that they loop making this re-imagination a nice background sound if set on repeat and played through a stereo. For this project I employed the simplest solution and emphasized repetition."
