Cash For Kids Helps Little Layla Get Her Buggy!

The generosity of The Wave and Swansea Sound's listeners has helped a 2 year old Briton Ferry girl get the specialist equipment she needs. Layla Jenkins can't walk unaided. The 27 month old has a number of conditions including hypotonia which causes decreased muscle tone and airway difficulties. Her mum and dad Huw and Rachel have organised a family fund day as well as a Frank Sinatra tribute night in a bid to raise £1,000 for Layla to get a specialist buggy. But The Wave and Swansea Sound team were so touched by her plight - we phoned the family straight away to cover the cost of buying the equipment. Our reporter Emma Grant broke the news to Huw, who was lost for words and couldn't thank our listeners enough for their kind donations.
