Call to investigate adverts on YouTube Kids app

In February this year, the online video site YouTube launched an app for kids.

It's designed to be a place where children can safely watch film clips, while parents control what they watch and search for.

But while enjoying videos of their favourite kids TV shows, young eyes are also coming across adverts.

Campaigners say branded channels by the likes of toy company Fisher-Price and McDonald's are sneakily slipping in adverts, in ways that would never be allowed on television.

YouTube strongly denies the claim.
