My Week in a Song for Week #16 of 2015

The great Stevie Wonder's ISN'T SHE LOVELY?

Dedicated to Scout, the loveliest of all, who sat near me through a bunch of run throughs of this song.

BACKGROUND: When I first opened the box that my Kamaka came in I kept saying over and over to Bill, "Isn't She Lovely!" Then I remembered there was a song by that name.

This is the first song I taught myself, using UkuLenny's YouTube online tutorial. Thank you to Lenny, and all the other You Tubers who so freely share their ukulele knowledge.

I realized recently that this Week in a Song journey is going to help me with my character defect of perfectionism. It is still such a struggle to get through a song in one take without blundering somewhere, and at some point I hear one and think "That's as good as it's going to get. Post it now!"

This week I hear myself thinking. I hear the exact moment I realize this recording is going to be okay enough to post. Yes, I am singing flat through a good bit of it but I got through the riffs and this is going to be "the one!"

Then I gallop toward the finish in relief.

How I do anything is how I do everything, and I'm looking to lighten up and have more fun from beginning to end. I hope you enjoy this week's tune. Thanks for listening.
