The Department of Justice have recommended a change to Northern Ireland's abortion law - allowing terminations in fatal foetal abnormality cases. Justice Minister David Ford said he will ask the Executive for approval to introduce legislation - but said he will not try to legalise abortion in cases of rape. Mr Ford made the announcement following a public consultation on proposed reforms to Northern Ireland's abortion law, which is different from the rest of the UK. But campaigners say that the recommendations should go further and are not fair on rape victims who want a termination. Earlier on Good Morning Ulster the Justice Minister David Ford responded to criticism from former Health Minister Edwin Poots about going against majority opinion in the public consultation process.
