David Jewkes Leighton from Penarth is among 15 British descendants to meet the Prince of Wales and Prince Harry today during the centenary commemorations of the Gallipoli landings. His father, Arthur, a sergeant in the Royal Welch Fusiliers survived the campaign, being evacuated three times. And, despite being wounded at the western front, tried to re enlist in 1939. David was born 12 years after Gallipoli.
