By the way, this particular episode of "Where Were You" comes from personal experience - meaning I was actually there, participating in the news. On March 28, 1979, I was one of a handful of radio people left in Harrisburg - even our news director skipped town, moving his family to Texas overnight. A couple of others shared marathon shifts with me as we kept reporting on the incident around the clock for several days. Some of the calls from around the globe were quite comical. My favorite was from Sydney, Australia; they wanted an "on the spot" report from TMI. So I grabbed a news feed from the AP wire, and read it over the phone. One caller asked me if Harrisburg had blown up!
